Immigration Trends - Communicating with Trainers - Growth in Latin Companies

News Flash!

Immigration from Mexico is down 42%. Why? It’s the economy, tonto (silly)! And the added difficulties of immigrants getting processed or crossing the border!

Training Tip

"Hispanic workers are often afraid to ask questions when they don’t understand some part of their training. They generally have a very strong desire to be successful in their work and to please their manager. This may lead them to feel very insecure about asking questions."
(HR and The New Hispanic Workforce)

Amazing Growth...

The top three fastest-growing Hispanic companies named by Hispanic Business magazine are: Venegas Engineering Management & Construction (sales growth 4965.12%), Mercom Inc. Service (3257.12% sales growth) and Genesis Networks Inc. (sales growth 2500.00%). Four of the top ten are located in Texas. Most of the Top One Hundred are located in the southern tier of states.

Communication Tip

Be very careful about using humor in newsletters or advertising. Humor usually doesn’t translate well because it is very culturally based. What is funny to a non-Hispanic could be incomprehensible or even offensive to someone from a different language or culture.
